How Categories Work
The category is determined by four factors: the number of lanes affected, the posted speed limit of the road, the duration of the closure, and whether the work involves multiple phases or stages. Higher complexity in any factor pushes toward a higher category.
The category is confirmed after we review your project details, not estimated by a bot. The price you see above is the starting price for each category. Most projects within a category are straightforward and land at the starting price. Complex projects within a category may be quoted above it.
You receive a confirmed category and price before any work begins. No surprises later.
Engineer Review & Sealing
Category 3 plans typically require a P.Eng seal, as do Category 2 and 3 plans in Burnaby. When engineering approval is required, we coordinate the review and sealing process. Pricing varies by project complexity, with costs and timelines provided upfront.
